Stadt Zeigen
Anne Sawyer Schmidt
City tourism is extremely popular, and city guides are ten a penny. However, not all tourist groups benefit from this. The recommended routes are often too long for people with special needs, and they are not always barrier-free. In addition, the information is often too complex for them to process easily. Anne Sawyer Schmidt, an alumna of the Bremerhaven University of Applied Sciences, intends to offer a useful alternative. Stadt Zeigen is an interactive city guide for children and young people in easy-to-understand language, filled with a wealth of illustrations and activities. The main characters are “little Roland of Bremen” and “little Störtebecker of Verden”, and were developed, illustrated and produced as cloth dolls by herself. The portfolio of Stadt Zeigen is being expanded in the form of city guides in simple language for adults, interactive online city tours and collaboration with tourism associations. In other words, this one-woman business has a lot to do at the moment. This is why Anne Sawyer Schmidt is looking for collaboration partners. She herself has had a connection to the target group since childhood, and is trained in illustration, leisure and tourism. Anne Sawyer Schmidt could not be happier: “I know that my idea is a good one, and one that people need. This is the reason I do it.”
